The livelihood project intending to upgrade the fishing facilities of fisherfolks in the barangay will support 120 beneficiaries. Of the number, 48 will receive fishing boat assistance, 19 will be given fishing gear assistance, 49 will get motor boat engine support while 4 will benefit from fishing generator support.

Joselito G. Dela Banda, Head of Iloilo Field Office said that these beneficiaries rely heavily on fishing which is a seasonal source of income. Dela Banda added that during lean months in the area, their antiquated fishing equipment and gears hinder these marginalized fisherfolks from exploring other fishing areas in Western Visayas.

Dela Banda is positive that with the livelihood funding from DOLE Region 6, these beneficiaries will be able to acquire upgraded fishing equipment which will help them continue fishing, earning and providing for their families even during the lean months.
