DOLE-NOFO holds one day coaching for TUPAD Proponents

NEGROS OCCIDENTAL – The Department of Labor and Employment Negros Occidental Field Office (DOLE-NOFO) held its One-Day Coaching in the Preparation of Liquidation Reports for the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Project proponents in Bacolod City.

Thirty-four (34) identified barangays, through their Barangay Treasurers, attended the one-day coaching activity on February 13, 2020 held at the Sugar Workers Development Center (SWDC) at Cottage Road, Bacolod City, where they were taught of the pre-requisites they have to accomplish as part of the liquidation requirements for the TUPAD Project they have availed of.

These 34 barangays in Bacolod City availed of the said emergency employment program in 2019 for the de-clogging of canals and drainages, clearing of roads, pruning of trees, and beautification of communities, for a work duration ranging from 15 to 30 days for each project.

The participants were taught on how to prepare daily time records, accomplish payrolls, and properly document the daily tasks of beneficiaries through photos and narrative reports.

“Since our yearly dilemma in the implementation of all our livelihood programs is the submission of liquidation reports from our proponents, our aim is to fast track our liquidation process through coaching them in the preparation of the same since the standards on how to prepare will come from us, the evaluators”, said Ma. Victoria Diwata Borines, the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Emergency and Employment Program (DILEEP) Focal Person of Negros Occidental Field Office.

DOLE-NOFO Head Mary Agnes N. Capigon (Center), explains to the participants the significance of the Coaching activity in the availing and implementation of TUPAD Projects.

Mary Agnes N. Capigon, Head of the DOLE Negros Occidental Field Office, recognized the cooperation and support of all the proponents in Bacolod City in the proper implementation of the TUPAD Project.

“After this activity, we expect to receive liquidation documents from our proponents since we have already coached and pre-evaluated their outputs. Through this, we can now immediately accommodate new proposals for the implementation of TUPAD Projects this 2020”, said Capigon.

As to date, more than half of the project proponents who attended the coaching have already submitted their liquidation reports to the DOLE Negros Occidental Field Office, and half of which have already been approved.
