DOLE-RO6 BACKS COOP LIVELIHOOD AND ENTREP VENTURES

Amidst the threat of the global pandemic, the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office 6 continuously grants assistance for capacity-building on livelihood and entrepreneurial ventures for vulnerable and marginalized workers.

Two cooperatives from the Province of Aklan were recently granted assistance for livelihood projects under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP).

Regional Director Cyril L. Ticao led the distribution of checks worth one (1) million pesos each to Fatima Agrarian Reform Cooperative (FARC) from the Municipality of Malinao and Kabulihan Coconut Farmers Cooperative (KCFC) from the Municipality of Malay.  The turn-over was held during the awarding ceremony for the Search for 2020 Best DOLE Livelihood Assisted Project in Region 6 at the Boracay Tropics, Malay, Aklan on August 26, 2020.

The assistance extended to FARC will be utilized for the palay trading project of its seventy-four (74) beneficiaries. The KCFC, on the other hand, will be using the grant for consumer store enhancement and meat processing projects of one hundred twenty (120) member-beneficiaries.
